💊 The Bionic Manifesto: your role in shaping the future of technology.
In an exciting week for Team Bionic, we’ve launched by publishing our manifesto.
It outlines our core mission and how our community have a significant part to play.
The Bionic Manifesto
We believe that humanity stands at the threshold of a significant revolution,
one that will be driven by the limitless possibilities offered by the meeting of web3 and other advanced technologies,
fundamentally transforming our capabilities, culture and society.
We see these groundbreaking innovations as more than just tools;
they are the keys to unlocking a future where the most daunting challenges of our era
from curing cancer to combating climate change,
from reinventing reality to advancing bio-engineering
are not only addressed but conquered.

THE BREAKDOWN
🧠 How a16z think about AI and Crypto: a four pillar framework
Ali Yahya is a general partner at A16Z Crypto.
In their recent podcast, he breaks down how he thinks about the convergence of AI and crypto.
💎 It’s a crystal clear framework we can all borrow:
1. AI as Centralizing vs. Crypto as Decentralizing
AI thrives on top-down centralized control, enabling large tech companies to make decisions across billions of users and page views.
In contrast, crypto focuses on decentralized systems that facilitate large-scale human cooperation without central control.
2. Sustaining vs. Disruptive Innovation
AI reinforces the business models of existing technology companies, while crypto presents a fundamentally disruptive innovation.
Crypto's business model is at odds with big tech companies, often led by rebels and fringes rather than incumbents.
3. Privacy Trends
AI tends to reduce individual privacy as companies seek access to vast amounts of data to train increasingly effective models.
This could lead to an AI panopticon with collective data aggregation.
Crypto, conversely, moves towards increasing individual privacy and sovereignty, giving users more control over their data.
4. Creative Tools and Authenticity
AI as a powerful technology for generating new art leads to infinite abundance of media and creativity.
Crypto provides a counterbalance by helping to distinguish content created by humans from that created by AI.
Cryptography plays a vital role in maintaining and preserving human-generated content in a world dominated by artificially generated media.
Also in this episode:
👻 Deepfakes and bots. Proof of humanity in a world of AI.
⚔️ The tension between centralization and decentralization.
🪄 The integration of zero-knowledge techniques in machine learning (ZKML)
👩💻 Decentralizing AI, and the potential for AI to generate code and find bugs in software
📱 The concept of decentralized social networks, where the social graph is on-chain and controlled by users.
Highly recommend listening. 👉️🙂
